Milan, Italy: July 7, 2010 - The Politecnico di Milano has announced that it will conduct its first-ever international course in eco-sustainable jewellery design from March 14 to March 19, 2011. The course is being organised in cooperation with CIBJO and the World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation (WJCEF), which is the body established by CIBJO to advance the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility in the jewellery industry.

Milan, Italy: July 5, 2010 - CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, has reached a multilateral cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Peru (Mincetur). The agreement involves the establishment of a U.S. $6.2 million training programme, designed to improve the skills and efficiencies of 12,000 Peruvian jewellery artisans, as a first step to building a sustainable, responsible and ethical jewellery industry in Peru.

The summit brought together about 2,000 representatives of the business community, civil society and government, to review the 10th anniversary of the founding of the public-private partnership whose mission it is to advance human rights and sustainability in the business sector.

Antwerp, Belgium: June 22, 2010 – The United Nation’s Institute for Training and Research has invited CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, to participate in UNITAR Week, which will take place in the United Nations Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo from September 19-26. On behalf the world jewellery industry, CIBJO will assume a key role in a Corporate Social Responsibility programme being organised in Shanghai by UNITAR to emphasise the responsibility of the business community in helping meet the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.
